How we roll

This morning, Pea and I bundled Spud into the car and drove to the picturesque town north of us to do some Christmas shopping.

From 10:30-10:50, we alternated time in a pottery shop with entertaining Spud. We bought three Christmas gifts of the ~15 on our list.

From 10:55-11:40, we visited the awe-inspiring model train display, including a night scene where all the lights in the houses and streetlights and trains were on. Spud was enchanted with the miniature construction site and the three sea planes. He thought trains changing directions were hysterical but otherwise was much more interested in the background details.

From 11:45-12:10, we visited our favourite delightful bakery, ate sausage rolls, a latte for Pea, and picked up butter tarts to bring to a party this evening.

From 12:15-12:30, we visited another two shops but didn’t find anything useful. We bundled Spud back in the car and headed home.

It is no wonder to me that we are not very good at being ready for Christmas in advance. We’ll get there. In the meantime, it was a delightful morning!
